He has been a Christian since 1976 and has worshipped with Korle-Bu Community Chapel (KBCC) since 1990. Areas of engagement in the church include the Christian Education Programme, Evangelism Committee, Building Committee, Prayer Committee, First Timers Committee, Men’s Fellowship and a member of Church Council. He is currently the President of the Church Council and also the President of the Men’s Fellowship.

He has also been involved with Scripture Union, GHAFES, the Bible Society of Ghana, Navigators and Akrofi Chrysteller Institute of Applied Theology at Mampong Akwapim.

He is married to Mrs. Emelia Oberye Monney and has three children. Viola Araba Monney, Abigail Nana Aba Monney and Nathaniel Nii Ammah Monney.
